Bio
I'm an award-winning newsroom hyphenate, a reporter-editor-host-videographer-photographer equally comfortable brainstorming coverage as I am going out on a story and shooting my own photos and video.
I came up in the age of composing-room waxers, but realize that modern-day storytellers must be early adopters of technology, to find the audience where it is.
I am firm believer in and a champion of building community around journalism.
My design background taught me to think visually; my comma-chasing copy-editing past instilled an attention to detail; my theater background gives my project a dramatic flair and sense of occasion.
I juggle multiple assignments -- daily, medium- and long-range -- and see them through to deadline.
Ah, deadline. I respect deadline.
I also run a good meeting, troubleshooting potential pitfalls while keeping my eye on the finish line. I've scheduled staff, coached and coaxed, and conducted employee evaluations.
I lead by enthusiastic example.
